SAT test date questions, answered
Short answers about deadlines, score release and international testing. Everything here follows the official College Board schedule, so confirm the final details in your College Board account.
How many times a year is the SAT offered?
The SAT is offered on seven or eight weekend dates each school year, usually in August, September, October, November, December, March, May and June. Many US schools also offer SAT School Day on weekdays for their own students.
When is the SAT registration deadline?
Regular registration closes about two weeks before each test date, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The exact deadline for every upcoming date is listed in the calendar above.
What is SAT late registration?
Late registration is a short window after the regular deadline, usually ending about 11 days before the test. You can still register, but a late fee is added and your preferred test center may already be full.
When do SAT scores come out?
Digital SAT scores are typically released about two weeks after the test date. College Board publishes the official score release schedule for each administration and emails you when your scores are ready in your account.
Are SAT test dates the same internationally?
Most weekend dates are offered both in the US and internationally, but not every date is available in every country or at every center. Check the dates available for your country when you register.
Can I change my SAT test date?
Yes. You can change your test date or test center in your College Board account until the late registration deadline for your original date. A change fee may apply.
